to reduce wheat purchases in the new season. This conclusion makes United
Nations experts of Food and Agriculture Organization, according to terms of grain
crops reserves, which this year is quite high.
FAO Experts
estimate, Arab country wheat imports will fall in 2012-2013 by 10% compared to
last season. Last year, Iran's wheat procurement was 1.7 million tons.
High
international prices forced many countries to establish grain strategic
reserves. Iran is among those countries. In addition, the Iranian government is
trying to ensure domestic food security.

production in Iran in the current season may reach 13.8 million tons. The crop volume
produced last year, relatively less by 2% than current one.
